Liquefied gas inspection (LPG & LAG)

IMI is a company with many years of experience in the field of inspection of the quantity and quality of liquefied gas, there are two types of liquefied gases that are transported by specialized vessels such as liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and liquefied ammonia gas (LAG).

Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG): As a mixture of liquefied petroleum gas, the main components include propane (C­3H8) and Butane (C4H10) mixed at the discretion of the user. In addition to these two ingredients, there are also very few substances such as Metan (CH4), Etan (C2H6), Buten (C4H8), Pentan (C5H12), from Heptan (C6H14) or more almost none.

Liquid ammonia gas (LAG): The main component is ammonia (NH3) which has a negligible water content. It is therefore possible to consider this substance almost technically pure.

Quantity inspection of a liquefied gas shipment: It is checking and determination of measurements of liquid, vapor, temperature, pressure of cargo tanks and trim, list of ship. Then use the tank calibration tables, volume change factor, weight change factor … to calculate the quantity, the volume of the shipment at standard conditions of 15oC and 1 atm and compare with B/L figure.

Quality inspection of a liquefied gas shipment: It is taking a representative sample of the consignment and analyzing it according to the set norms and methods in order to determine the quality of the shipment in conformity with the contract, L/C … or not.
