Limestone is a CaO rich rock (over 50% of the amount of minerals) concentrated mainly in the northern provinces of Vietnam.
Limestone, after being exploited, is crushed into different kinds of particle size for export depending on the requirements of the contract, usually there are types: stone powder, crushed stone and lump (Size 10mm-40mm, 20mm-40mm, 40mm-80mm, 40mm-90mm,…)
IMI’s inspection scope of limestone as below:
At Factory/Warehouse/Store:
- Pre-shipment inspection (PSI): Stockpile sampling, sample preparation and testing/analysis. Stockpile quantity survey
- Inspection during loading on Barge: Barge cargo hold cleanliness inspection and water tightness testing, barge draft survey, weighing supervision, sealing barge’s cargo holds after received cargo and quality inspection (sampling during loading, sample preparation and testing/analysis)
- Other scope of inspection required
At shipside:
- Vessel cargo hold cleanliness inspection before loading
- Vessel cargo hold water tightness testing before loading
- Vessel draft survey
- Barge draft survey
- Quality inspection (sampling during loading, sample preparation and testing/analysis)
- Sealing vessel’s cargo holds after loading
- Other scope of inspection required
Testing parameters of limestone as below:
- CaO
- SiO2
- MgO
- Fe2O3
- S
- P
- Moisture
- Size distribution (determine by sieve at site or at Lab)
